REVONDA MARIE SEITZ

Revonda Marie Seitz, 68, of

Newton, passed away on Friday,

December 22, 2023 at Atrium

Health Wake Forest Baptist in

Winston Salem.

Revonda was born in Catawba

County, the youngest daughter of Fred Ervin Seitz and Ila Sigmon Seitz. She was a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill and taught school for many years at Claremont Elementary. Revonda was an avid fan of the UNC Tarheels and loved watching the Heels play basketball. She also loved her dogs and devoted her time to the CVMC pet therapy program. After retirement, Revonda worked as a substitute teacher and volunteered extensively at Catawba Valley Medical Center. She also spent many hours crocheting prayer shawls that were donated to her church. Revonda was very involved with her church and was also a former member of Newton’s Board of Alderman. She continued her service to the public even after her death by being an organ donor.

A memorial service to celebrate Revonda’s life will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at Beth Eden Lutheran Church in Newton. Rev. Marcus Ollis will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. at Beth Eden Lutheran Church.
