Teams are being formed for volleyball, soccer, and baseball

Registrati­on is now open at the Newton Parks and Recreation Department for girls’ volleyball, boys and girls co-ed spring soccer, and youth baseball.

To register for a sport, participan­ts must:

- Submit a completed registrati­on card signed by a parent or guardian.

- Have a birth certificat­e on file with the Newton Parks and Recreation Department.

- Have emergency medical treatment and consent forms notarized and on file.

- Have a signed parental code of ethics on file.

- Provide proof of residency. If applicable, pay a $30 non-refundable non-resident fee.

- Return any loaned equipment from a previous sport.

Registrati­on is limited for each sport. Participan­ts are encouraged to register early to avoid being placed on a waiting list.

Girls Volleyball

Girls volleyball registrati­on runs through Feb. 16 and is open to girls who are 9-16 years old as of Aug. 31. Late registrati­on will run from Feb. 19 to March 1. Participan­ts will be divided into two age groups: 9-12 years old and 13-16 years old.

Boys and

Spring Soccer

Boys and girls co-ed spring soccer registrati­on runs through March 29 and is open to boys and girls who are 4-16 years old as of Aug. 31.

Girls Co-ed

Youth Baseball

Youth baseball registrati­on runs from Feb. 12 to April 5 and is open to boys and girls who are 4-12 years old as of May 1. Participan­ts will be divided into three age groups: 4-6 years old (T-ball), 7-8 years old (machine pitch), and 9-12 years old (baseball).
