Raonic battled some mid-season injuries en route to his best year-end ranking to date, holding the No. 3 spot on the ATP tour. He recorded his sixth straight season of over thirty wins (2011-2016), with a career-high of 52 coming in 2016. Those wins can be attributed to a semifinal appearance at the Australian Open, a finalist finish at Wimbledon, and a title in Brisbane where he defeated Roger Federer. He also reached the finals of London/ Queen’s Club and Indian Wells, falling to Novak Djokovic. Raonic entered 2017 with eight total ATP titles and is searching for his first in Miami. His best showing on Key Biscayne came in 2014 and 2016, when his run ended in the quarterfinals.
