summer is fast approaching, and you know what that means: an entire season of endless fun in the Magic City sun—as if we didn’t already have enough fun (or sun) year-round.
What better way to kick off such an exciting time than with this very special double issue, and we’re thrilled to have actress, author, social-media maven, and Pretty Little Liars star shay Mitchell grace the cover. With more than 16 million followers on instagram alone, Mitchell is the epitome of the influential millennial, and we’re honored to be able to catch up with her.
While we’re on the topic of successful and inspirational women, this issue also marks the fourth edition of our Women of influence feature, “Wonder Women.” The six accomplished women we’ve included—from leading businesswomen to philanthropists and top TV personalities—are not only fierce forces; they’re also fulfilling their dreams while mentoring and motivating others along the way. We could not be more proud to share their success stories with you.
in between flipping through the pages of this issue, i encourage you to make your way over to the phillip and patricia Frost Museum of science’s brand-new, highly anticipated superfacility at Museum park, in the heart of downtown Miami. For more than 65 years, the museum has provided both children and adults with educational programs coupled with endless amounts of fun. and now, starting on May 8, you can enjoy the long-awaited multidimensional scientific institution’s ultramodern planetarium, innovation center, exploration center, and 500,000gallon shark-filled Gulf stream aquarium (and, of course, the beloved monthly laser shows will be back and better than ever).
so before the temperature reaches 100 degrees and our schedules become jam-packed with events (including the eagerly awaited swim Week, hitting our shores in july), be sure to go out and explore all of the excitement happening any and every day in our city this month. i know i sure will.
