With an exciting new location at the Brickell City Centre, Westime brings exceptional and exclusive timepieces to Miami’s most discerning collectors.

Greg Simonian sold his first watch, a Movado, at the age of 12 for $800. Today, that enterprising young man serves as president of Westime, the mecca for fine timepieces that his legendary father and business partner, John, began from a single location in Los Angeles 30 years ago.

Recently, the Simonians opened three adjoining boutiques (Westime, Richard Mille, and Audemars Piguet) at Miami’s most highly anticipated new retail project, Brickell City Centre. Here, Greg Simonian discusses the new multi-boutique location, shares what he loves about our city, and gives insights into some exclusive pieces that Westime is offering in Miami.

What attracted you to Miami and Brickell?

Miami is an amazing city with a strong and sophisticated international appeal. We were excited to hear about the Brickell City Centre project because we knew it would bring Miamians and tourists alike to this beautiful and increasingly vibrant neighborhood. How is the Miami customer unique?

The combination of the energy of the city, the unique Latin vibe, and just how cosmopolitan the residents and visitors are means that they embrace bold, new pieces. As our business has progressed, our product offerings have become more unique, and Miami seems to appreciate that.

Do you feel that Miami’s strong connections to art and design influence what watch collectors are looking for?

That relationship to art and design means that the Miami customer can understand highly imaginative brands such as MB & F and Urwerk.

Tell us about the design of your locations at Brickell City Centre.

We wanted to give our clientele something unique that offered the variety of

Westime and a full brand experience with Richard Mille and Audemars Piguet. The boutiques were designed to open onto one another in order to create amazing flow. There is a seating area that all three share; this way customers can have a base from which to move around from one area to another. Share some of the unique, non-watch offerings available. We offer an array of luxury objects, such as the new MB & F Astrograph pen, which is a true work of art. We also offer some astonishing MB & F clocks and beautiful cuff-links and a mechanical fountain pen by Richard Mille. Brickell City Centre, 701 S. Miami Ave., Miami, 786-347-5353; wes
