“AN INDOOR-OUTDOOR LIFESTYLE [ALLOWS] RESIDENTS TO HAVE THEIR BOATS DOCKED RIGHT IN THE BACKYARD WITH A STRAIGHT PATH TO THE BAY.”
The experience of arriving in the house is fabulous—as soon as you park the car in front, you have a sense of the whole house, since the golden mirrors reflect the sunset right behind it. How do the materials reinforce the design? KP: They integrate the lines of the project and natural light. Wood and limestone were laid as floors, while privacy glass in the master bedroom was strategically placed to preserve the openness. The idea was to experience the entire house from every corner of the property, indoors and outdoors. What other details are important? CL: The house utilizes the newest technology, including a large video wall in the living room, which enables a state-ofthe-art showcase for digital art; Lutron and Crestron [smart home] systems; and stunning water features inside and outside.
KP: The latest automation allows you to control lights, shades, waterfalls, music, and pretty much everything remotely. The outdoor and pool areas are interconnected, as well as the private boat dock.
How does your attitude toward art impact your approach to developing living spaces? CL: I strongly believe any expressive high-end development needs to bring special attention to any art collection that will be displayed. I intend to select the collection for this property from my own gallery.
Whom do you envision living in this home? CL: Anyone who appreciates the good things in life—from business executives and overseas transplants to avid boaters and families with young children. It will be all about a great lifestyle! elliman.com
