Gregory Lee Winters, 84, beloved husband, father, and grandfathe­r, passed away October 26, 2018. Dr. Winters was born to Ruth Lazauskas and James Lee Winters on October 4, 1934, in Baltimore, MD. Upon graduation from high school, he attended the pre-veterinary program at the University of Maryland. In 1955, he entered the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and served as base veterinari­an at MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL. In September of 1961, he opened the Pine Hills Veterinary Clinic in Orlando, FL. In 1986, he built the Animal Clinic of Windermere. He retired in July, 2000. Dr. Winters was an avid tennis player until he became ill. In his younger years, he loved water skiing and scuba diving. He made many scuba trips to Central America and Mexico. He and his wife, Cherry, of 61 years, loved to travel. They visited most of the United States and much of Europe and South America. Their most treasured memories are their three trips to Africa.

Dr. Winters was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. He was a past president of the Central Florida Veterinary Medical Associatio­n, and he was also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Associatio­n.

Dr. Winters is predecease­d by his son James Gregory Winters. He is survived by his wife Cherry; his daughters Lee Anne Kline of Windermere and Elizabeth Paige Winters of Daytona Beach; his grandchild­ren Krista Marie, Daniel Christian, and Victoria Lee Kline Windermere; and his brother Dudley Winters and his wife Caroline of Baltimore, MD.

A celebratio­n of life will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home on Saturday, November 3rd at 2pm. of of
