3 in GOP eager to take on Murphy

The Republican primary in U.S. Congressional District 7 once had as many as nine people lining up to face Democratic U.S. Rep. Stephanie Murphy. But after a qualifying deadline that remained unchanged amid the coronavirus epidemic, making it harder for some contenders to gather signatures, three remained for the Aug. 18 primary.

District 7 includes Seminole County and parts of central Orange County. Murphy is unopposed in her party, and William Garlington is running as an independent and does not face a primary
