Candidates divided just when unity is needed

-

President Trump and his supporters believe the choice is clear that he should be reelected. Those leaning left, including the Sentinel, believe keeping Trump in office is clearly a huge mistake and the choice for Biden is clear.

However, the choice is much harder than either side portrays.

Trump is a bully, is rude, and often lives in hisownreality. Hisdownplaying ofhow serious the COVID-19 virus is and its impact, is infuriating.

However, he clearly is better for the economy keeping taxes low, supports the military, supports law and order, and is willing to go after a failed immigration policy that has allowed millions of undocumented aliens into our country.

He has taken a beating on being too lenient on requiring masks and too anxious to reopen business. The reality is that democratic controlled areas are killing their businesses environment with strict shutdowns.

You will notice none of this is about Joe Biden. This election as I see it is all about pro-Trump vs. anti-Trump. The valid fear concerning Biden is his ability to keep the far left at bay if he is elected. He is amuch more likable person than Trump, though. He has clearly had a rough life with all his personal losses and has weathered all of this with dignity (except now trying to politicizewhathehasgonethroughwith a veiled discussion on health care).

So, the choice really is not that clear, but whatever the outcome, we need to come together to fight everythingwe are facing. Both sides need to do a better job of that.
