Lake Brantley did it again.

The Patriots defeated a Sentinel Super 16 team for the second consecutive week Friday night to even its regular-season record at 3-3.

Senior quarterback Noah Hudak ran for 133 yards, including the go-ahead score, and UCF commit Anthony Williams added 86 yards rushing as Lake Brantley upended No. 12 West Orange (3-2) for a 28-21win on Friday.

The game featured six touchdowns in the fourth quarter. The Patriots, who defeated then-No. 9 Ocoee 35-19 on the road last week, prevailed Friday despite losing three fumbles in the second half.

Head coach David Delfiacco lauded the offensive line’s blocking in the win after amassing 306 yards on the ground.

“We have an award for an outstanding offensive lineman or blocker,” Delfiacco said. “They were all outstanding, last week and this week. They may all have to get it again.”

Hudak put the Patriots up for good at 21-14 on a 22-yard touchdown run with 4:58 left in the game. On the ensuing kickoff, the ball bounced off a West Orangere turner, and Cameron Carpenter recovered at the Warriors’ 26.

Five plays later, Williams book-ended a two-touchdown night with a 2-yard run for a 28-14 lead.

A 7-yard touchdown run by Joanes Polynice Jr. brought the Warriors to within one score with 1:15 left. Polynice then recovered the ensuing onside kick, but Carpenter sealed the victory two plays later with an interception.

“I sawthe whole screen,” said Carpenter. “The receiver bobbled it, and I saw it and caught it.”

West Orange, which pulled out a 15-14 overtime win at Apopka last week, was limited to 52 yards rushing.

“We put the defense a lot of times in a bad position because of the turnovers,” Delfiacco said. “They did a great job of bowing their back, especially on a couple of those drives when they had their backs against the wall.”

Both teams face future Class 8A playoff foes on Thursday. Lake Brantley plays at Evans while West Orange hosts Ocoee. Those matchups will take place again on Nov. 13.

Lake Mary, ranked No. 15, forced a turn-over-on-downs with 1:29 to play at No. 14 Ocoee (2-3) to improve to 5-1with 21-18 win.

The Rams led 14-12 at halftime on touchdown passes from Gunnar Smith to Sterle Scott and Ron Kimble in the first quarter. Marquis Jones rushed for an 18-yard score midway through the third quarter.

Ocoee cut into the deficit early in the fourth when sophomore quarterback Dylan Wade hooked up with Tae’quan Johnson on a touchdownpass for the second time.

On the final offensive play for the Knights, Wade appeared as if he wanted to run an option while deep in their own territory. With no one to pitch the ball to, he tucked it and ran, getting just 1yard.

“Our defense played well all night,” Lake Mary coach Scott Perry said. “They came up big there in the end. They stopped their quarterback — that’s a big, hard runner.”

No. 10 Bishop Moore (4-2) yielded a 35-yard touchdown pass with 48 seconds to go in a 34-33 loss at home to Fort Myers Bishop Verot (5-3).

The Vikings jumped out to a 24-7 advantage midway through the second quarter.

Bishop Moore closed the gap when brothers Luke Hedrick and Heath Hedrick scored on touchdown runs that cut the deficit to 24-21 with 4:55 to go in the third quarter. The Hornets then took a 27-24 lead on a 43-yard TD pass from Luke Hedrick to Marc Morrison before Verot answered to tie the game with a field goal.

Bishop Moore struck again on another completion from Hedrick to Morrison, this time for 79 yards. The PAT kick was blocked and the Hornets could not hold on to their 33-27 lead.

Casey St. John threw for 228 yards and tossed three TD passes to older brother Parker St. John while helping Boone (5-1) turn in a 52-24 win vs. Olympia (3-2).

Jackevis Lovett added 115 rushing yards and a TD and Jacorey Thomas scored twice on runs for the 11th-ranked Braves.

Olympia quarterback C.J. Brooks connected with Victor Jones Jr. on a 63-yard scoring play to open the game. Brooks finished with 281 yards passing and four touchdown passes to Jones and Cameron Freidman.

No. 13 Apopka (4-2) rebounded from consecutive one-point losses against Jones and West Orange by rolling past Evans (1-3) for a 29-0 home win.

Senior Jaquan Lowman rushed for two touchdowns in the first half after missing last week’s game with a shoulder injury.

Lowman finished with78 yards rushing on 14 carries in three quarters of play as the Blue Darters exploded for 450 yards on offense. Javen Robinson led a ground game that compiled 331 yards by carrying the ball nine times for 87 yards. Keondre Jones scored on a 9-yard carry in the fourth quarter.

Evans, which entered the contest averaging 31 points per game, turned the ball over on downs twice on trips to the red zone.

No. 5 Osceola (4-1) scored on a 23-yard interception return by Lamont Lee and turned a blocked punt into points during a 29-0 win at home in its first-ever game against neighboring Tohopekaliga (2-3). Former Osceola standout and current Tigers head coach Marc Deas has been with the program since the Kissimmee relief school opened in 2018.

The Kowboys recorded a safety on the game’s first play and went on to force three turnovers, eight sacks and seven other tackles-for-loss.

Ja’Randy Swint broke loose on an 18-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter, which was followed by Lee’s interception return 13 seconds later to make it a 15-0 game.

The blocked punt led to a 36-yard TD pass from Chad Mascoe to Izaiah Jean-Batiste to end the first half. Mascoe finished with two touchdown passes, including a 28-yarder to Massimo Rubera in the second half.

The Kowboys recorded their third shutout of the season one week after suffering a 31-24 loss to Edgewater.

“It wasn’t pretty by any stretch of the imagination, but I guess a win is a win,” Osceola coach Doug Nichols said. “We have a young team andwe told them how well they played against Edgewater last week, and I think they came out flat this week. As coaches we have got to do a better job of getting them focused.”
