Where to get the COVID-19 vaccine in Central Florida

The COVID-19 vaccines are starting to roll out, however, it’ll be a few months before they become widely available. The state is currently in the first phase of vaccinatio­n, which includes highrisk hospital workers, nursing home residents and staff, EMTs and paramedics and adults older than 65.

Central Florida counties have started distributi­ng the vaccines as they receive them.

Lake

Who: 65+ and front-line health workers.

Locations:

■ Once Lake receives more vaccines, which officials hope will be as early as Monday, the locations will be the Clermont Arts and Recreation Center, 3700 South Highway 27, and Lake Sumter College, 9501 U.S. Highway 441, Leesburg. There are no designated hours or days yet, but officials expect to know Monday and might reopen at 1 p.m.

When more vaccines arrive, the program will resume on a firstcome, first-served basis.

Orange

Who: 65+ (All appointmen­ts have been filled.)

Location: Orange County Convention Center

Informatio­n: Visit OCFL.net/ vaccines and click on the link for registrati­on. You can also download the OCFL Alert app, or text OCFLCOVID to 888777 to receive updates. The county is currently training 3-1-1 operators to help with registrati­on. Need valid photo ID.

Osceola

Who: 65+

Informatio­n: Call 407-3432000 to register. Due to increased call volume, the county has added an additional way to register for the vaccine. Individual­s 65 years and older and health care personnel interested in receiving a COVID-19 vaccinatio­n may email Osceola. Health@flhealth.gov and note “Vaccine” in the subject line of the email. In the body of the email, include only the full name and phone number of the person seeking vaccinatio­n (no other health informatio­n is needed).

Health department staff will call to schedule appointmen­ts based on vaccine availabili­ty.
