Nancy Bloodwell passed away on January 2nd, 2021 in Winter Park, Florida. She was 89 years old. Nancy was born on August 2nd, 1931 to “Doc” and “Wink” Couvillion in Orange, Texas. Her older brother, ”Jack”, was always her closest friend. Nancy was married to Dr. Robert Bloodwell. They raised four sons, Jeff, Chris, Pat and Matt. The boys all believed they were the luckiest kids around to have a mother who was so loving, outgoing, and fun! Each son was nurtured by her to find their own true strengths. Nancy is survived by Jeff and Kathy and their daughters, Katelyn and Erin; Chris and Aubrey and their son, Ian, and their daughter, Zoe; and Matt and Joy. Her grandchild­ren all knew their ”Memaw” as a beautiful soul who was full of love for all of them. She is also survived by her sister-in law, Jane Couvillion, and her family in Orange, Texas.

Nancy attended Orange High School and the University of Texas. She graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida with a Bachelors degree.

She volunteere­d there for many years as Minister.

Nancy’s devoted caretakers during her last years, Marie, Rose, Janet, Miranda, and others, are forever in our gratitude for their unselfish devotion to her comfort and well-being.

A private service will be held at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church on Friday, February 12th at 11:00 am. Friends and family are invited to attend virtually online at https://stmargaret­mary.org/funeral-mass-livestream/. After growing up in Orange, Nancy lived in Baltimore, Houston, and New Orleans, before settling in Winter Park, Florida in 1970. Her heart never left Texas. She was a true Bluebonnet Belle. As all of her family and friends know, Nancy always wanted to go home to Texas. She will be returned to Orange, Texas to be buried with her parents and brother at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
