Menu to expand at Hall on the Yard
The menu of restaurants at The Hall on the Yard coming to Orlando’s Ivanhoe Village is set to include everything from Southern food to Japanese fusion.
The 12,250-square-foot food hall at 1460 Alden Road is expected to open this spring.
Tenants include Chef & I for American fusion, Poké Rose for live and raw food, Southern option Fork & Hen, Wabi Sabi for Japanese fusion, True Island Cuisine for Caribbean, plant-based option Humbl, American bakery Daily Bread Bakers, Pasion for Mexican fusion, and Spice Affair for Indian.
The Hall on the Yard is also expected to include five curated event spaces and three cocktail bars, according to a news release.
It follows the opening of The Hall on Franklin in Tampa in 2017.
“In recent years, Orlando’s food scene has established itself as one of the most unique and exciting in the country,” owner Jamal Wilson said in the release. “As someone that thrives off a collaborative culture, I’m excited to bring The Hall experience to Orlando with the hopes that it will showcase the best the city has to offer from a culinary perspective and hospitality experience.”
The food hall joins the Yard at Ivanhoe project that includes hundreds of apartments.
Several food halls are in the works across Central Florida, including in downtown Orlando and the nearby Packing District project near Princeton Street and Orange Blossom Trail.
The Hampton Social opens
The Hampton Social has opened at Pointe Orlando with a menu of more than 15 rosé wines along with lobster roll and short rib offerings.
The 10,000-square-foot restaurant is at Pointe Orlando, 9101 International Drive, and features an outdoor patio. It is open for dinner and expected to add weekend brunch in March.
It has a “Rosé All Day” selection with more than 15 rotating rosé wines and the “Hampton Frosé” cocktail made with vodka, rosé wine and peach puree, according to a news release.
The menu also includes shrimp tacos, braised short rib, and a Mediterranean salad.
It is the eighth location of the restaurant from Chicago-based Parker Restaurant Group and the only Hampton Social in the Orlando area.
“We look forward to joining the Orlando community and offering a new, social destination for both locals and visitors to enjoy,” Parker Restaurant Group CEO and founder Brad Parker said in the release.
Educe Salon takes over ex-restaurant
Educe Salon is preparing to move into the former Chan’s Chinese Cuisine building on Colonial Drive east of downtown Orlando.
The salon currently operates at 936 Mills Ave. in Orlando and will look to open in the Chan’s property, 1901 E. Colonial Drive, in late summer to early fall, according to owners Phillip and Alicia Rosado.
The 5,000-square-foot building will also have about 700 to 800 square feet of space and a patio for a restaurant, such as a wine bar, the couple said.
The salon will grow from 20 to 28 chairs at the new location, Alicia Rosado said. The property also has more than 50 parking spaces.
The couple plan to reduce the Mills location from about 3,500 square feet to about half that and have independent stylists there.
Chan’s closed in November after more than 20 years in business. The property was sold for $1.7 million in December to Phoenix Rising Real Estate LLC, a company controlled by the Rosados, public records show.
