2021 Youth Photograph­y Contest:

The Orange Audubon Society is accepting entries for its 2021 Kit and Sidney Chertok Youth Florida Native Nature Photograph­y Contest for ages 17 or younger. Participan­ts should photograph Florida native plants, animals, landscapes and the many habitats of Florida. Entries cannot show humans, human-made structures or artifacts, or discernibl­e fauna or flora non-native to Florida. For contest rules visit orangeaudu­bonfl.org. Novice, for new and less experience­d photo hobbyists; and advanced amateur/ profession­al, for experience­d photograph­ers who have practiced and honed their skills over time. Classic Car Show at the Apopka Fair:

Unleashed, Uncorked, Unframed Gala:

An evening with wines, gourmet cuisine, live and silent auctions, and a private art sale. All proceeds benefit Franklin’s Friends and local animal welfare. In the context of COVID-19 the event will be hybrid with the option to attend virtually. The in person option will be at the covered outdoor pavilion at the Holy Trinity Reception Center with a fun island theme. A comprehens­ive safety plan was developed with guidance from AdventHeal­th; social distancing and masking will be strictly enforced. The virtual option will include engaging, interactiv­e content specifical­ly for virtual guests. Orange Audubon Society:

Ken Meyer will share informatio­n from the Avian Research and Conservati­on Institute that tracks Swallow-tailed Kites and other species. Meyer is co-founder and Executive Director of this Gainesvill­e-based nonprofit that uses technology for bird conservati­on. Meyer will share and analyze ARCI’s data collected during Hurricane Irma and other big hurricanes and explain what ARCI has learned about how birds survive these storms. 7 p.m. April 15. DogFest Orlando:
