Braille calendars available: The Braille Associatio­n of Mid-Florida offers 2022 calendars embossed in Braille. The calendar highlights holidays and includes embossed illustrati­ons with a unique theme. For those sending one as a gift, their name and a short personal note written by them will be embossed in Braille and sent with the calendar. Walk: The Mid-Florida Milers Walking Club, a member of the American Volkssport Associatio­n, is sponsoring a walk in Winter Park. The North Shore Birding Festival: Sponsored by Orange Audubon Society, the five-day event (Dec. 2-6) will allow participan­ts to learn from well-known birding guides. The festival’s 50 trips include youth and family trips and those targeting college students. Many of the trips and workshops target photograph­ers. Each trip starts at its field location or the McDonald Canal area in Mount Dora. Trips range in price from $10 for Youth registrati­on to $75 for an all-day trip with lunch. Friday and Saturday nights keynotes with dinner will be held at the Wekiwa Springs State Park Youth Camp, followed by owl and star walks. Christmas in the Park: The Morse Museum of American Art will light Central Park with century-old Tiffany windows from its renowned collection at the 43rd annual Christmas in the Park. The leaded-glass windows set the stage for a performanc­e of seasonal favorites by the Bach Festival Society Choir. Ye Olde Hometown Christmas Parade: Winter Park’s 69th annual parade will showcase holiday-themed floats, Santa Claus and well-known local figures.
