Rehab hospital planned for Altamonte Springs

-

A preliminary site plan application for a new 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility was just submitted in Altamonte Springs.

Texas-based hospital operator, Nobis Rehabilitation Partners, is teaming up with WB Development Partners and New Era Companies on a project being planned on 4.2 acres on the northeast corner of Gateway Drive and Maitland Boulevard.

City documents show WB Development Partners is seeking site plan approvals to build a three-story, 63,125 square-foot rehab center called Orlando Rehabilitation Hospital. According to its website, the hospital — the team’s first in Florida — is slated to open in 2023.

Nobis Rehabilitation Partners will manage the planned healthcare facility. VHB is the civil engineer.

The development team is under contract to purchase the property from the current owner, Behn Properties Limited, led by attorney Lea Anne Groover.

A previous news release states the hospital will serve patients with “debilitating illnesses and injuries such as stroke, brain injury, and other neurological and orthopedic diseases and injuries.”

Orlando Rehab Hospital will be the fifth project for WB Development and New Era Companies. The partners are also active in Kansas, Wisconsin, and recently opened a similar healthcare facility in Indiana.

In a prepared statement, CEO and co-founder of New Era Companies Daryn Eudaly said he determined Florida would be a good market to enter because of its population growth and business-friendly legislation.
