David Lingmerth on the second hole of a playoff at the CareerBuil­der Challenge in La Quinta, Calif. Dufner shot a final-round 2under 70 to finish regulation tied with Lingmerth (65) at 25-under 263. It was Dufner’s fourth PGA Tour win and first since winning the PGA Championsh­ip in 2013.

■ NBA: F Tim Duncan will miss the Spurs’ game against the Warriors on Monday because of soreness in his right knee. David

West likely will replace Duncan, 39, in the starting lineup for the game featuring the league’s top two teams.

■ NFL: Cowboys QB Tony Romo likely will undergo offseason surgery to insert a plate in his left collarbone to try to prevent future injuries, ESPN.com reported. The recovery time should take six to eight weeks. Romo, 35, has broken his collarbone three times since 2010. ... The Buccaneers hired Southern Mississipp­i coach Todd Monken, 49, as their offensive coordinato­r and WRs coach, while the Vikings added ex-Browns coach

■ OLYMPICS: Rio de Janeiro’s venues will be inspected daily during the 2016 Summer Games in an effort to prevent the spread of the mosquito-borne Zika virus linked to a rare birth defect and also a condition that can cause paralysis, organizers announced. ... The IOC adopted new guidelines, allowing transgende­r athletes to compete in the Olympics and other internatio­nal events without undergoing sex reassignme­nt surgery, the Associated Press reported. The guidelines actually are recommenda­tions for sports federation­s and others to follow.

Miocic replaces former champ Cain Velasquez, who was forced off the card because of a back injury.
