Want to join Advisory Board?

-

You’ve likely seen opinion columns from Central Floridians with a tag line that reads: The author “is a member of the Orlando Sentinel Editorial Advisory Board.” What’s that, and how can you be part of it? One year ago, the Orlando Sentinel invited readers to join our inaugural Editorial Advisory Board. It would be an opportunity to meet every few weeks at the Sentinel with Editorial Board members to offer feedback on our Opinion pages, and to share issues from their communities with us and each other.

Of more than 100 applications, we chose six Central Floridians, and a year later, we’re all richer for the experience.

Now we’re forming a new board. If you applied last year, consider yourself a candidate for this year. We’re also opening the field to new applicants. One caveat: You must be available for daytime meetings at the Sentinel office in downtown Orlando.

Interested? Send us an email at insight@orlandosentinel.com. Please put “Editorial Advisory Board” in the subject line; include your name, photo, hometown and occupation (if applicable); and tell us in 250 words or fewer why we should pick you to be an Advisory Board member. We’ll choose the members from among all the entries we receive by late October.
