Apartments to be built on former Tupperware land

- By Kyle Arnold Staff Writer

Tupperware Brands sold 13 acres of vacant property for a “luxury” apartment building in northern Osceola County.

The buyer, Fore Property Group, plans to build a 256-unit “high-end” apartment complex on John Young Parkway, just south of Osceola Parkway, according to Tupperware officials.

When completed, Fore Property will have built nearly 900 apartments near the intersection with former Tupperware land, said Tupperware executive vice president Tom Roehlk.

“This is going to be a luxury-level project, the nicest in the area,” Roehlk said.

Washington, D.C.-based Fore Property did not return a request for comment.

The new complex will be on a piece of property on John Young Parkway between Batts Street and Ball Park Road.

Tupperware did not disclose the selling price of the land, which was appraised at $1.8 million by the Osceola County Property Appraiser’s office.

The apartment building will be called Vernazza, drawing on the names of Fore’s other area projects, Rapallo and Lugano.

Vernazza, Rapallo and Lugano are the names of cities in northwest Italy. The project is expected to be finished in 2018.

Tupperware sold two Osceola shopping centers recently for a combined $121 million.
