Health & Harvest Festival

- Trevor Fraser

WHAT: The simple and sometimes tragically hard-to-live-by truth is eating right and exercising leads to better health. To this end, the Health & Harvest Festival in Winter Garden is an attempt to spur residents into good habits or help them celebrate the ones they already enjoy. Organized by Healthy West Orange, the event starts with a 10-mile family bike ride in the morning followed by a farmers market with cooking demos and health screenings. In the evening, chefs offer a five-course farm-to-table meal with pairings from local brewery Crooked Can Brewing Company, benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank and the LiveStrong program at Central Florida YMCA.

WHERE: Winter Garden Downtown Pavilion, 104 S. Lakeview Ave., Winter Garden

WHEN: bike ride starts at 8:30 a.m.; farmers market 9 a.m.-2 p.m.; dinner 6:30-10 p.m. Saturday

COST: free admission; bike ride $10 adults, $5 kids; dinner $135 ONLINE: healthywestorange.org
