Quick slant: The Gators have won eight of 11 meetings but trail 49-42-2 in the series. First-year Georgia coach Kirby Smart, a former Bulldogs safety, was 1-3 as a player against Florida. UF is a seven-point favorite.

About UF: The last time Florida had two 500-yard games was in 2008. The Gators’ five wins have come against teams with a combined 15-22 record. Punter Johnny Townsend has 15 punts of 50 yards or longer — tied for best in the nation. Florida has managed two sacks during the past three games.

About Georgia: The Bulldogs were 5-10 against UF under former coach Mark Richt. Just two members of the Bulldogs’ front seven — linebacker Lorenzo Carter and tackle Trenton Thompson — have started 10 college games. Receiver Isaiah McKenzie has five of Georgia’s nine touchdown catches. What to watch:

■ 1. Containing Chubb. Georgia running back Nick Chubb rushed for 156 yards against UF in 2014, his only matchup with Gators and one of 14 100-yard games he has recorded during 19 starts.

■ 2. UF pass defense. The Gators have allowed opponents to complete 37.9 percent of their passes — best in the nation. Georgia freshman Jacob Eason has completed 54.3 percent of his throws, 11th of 14 SEC starters, but he has shown potential to make big plays.

■ 3. Ball control. Georgia ranks second in the SEC (35:08 per game) in time of possession, while UF is third (33:08).
