Who doesn’t love model trains? See 21 scale miles of track, diesel and steam locomotive­s, detailed, lighted cities, industrial complexes, mountains and a riverfront with ships and docks at a model railroad open house. The free event, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., is at 2500 Silver Star Road, Ste. 1700, Orlando. 407-417-1096.

♦A Day in Florida History: Highlights include living history and period craft demonstrat­ions representi­ng various periods of Florida’s history from early Native Americans through the 1900s. There will be live music, antique tractors, and displays from local museums and historical societies. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., DeLeon Springs State Park, 601 Ponce DeLeon Blvd., DeLeon Springs, $6 per car with 2-8 people, $4 for single occupant, 386-985-4212.

♦Remote controlled model air show: See world class scale model aircraft, propeller and turbojet models flown by top gun pilots. Sponsored by the Remote Control Associatio­n of Central Florida. Local hobby shops and hobby experts will attend to answer questions for people interested in exploring the hobby of remote controlled flying. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tangerine Airfield, 203 W. ♦Bluegrass jam session: Musicians from around the vicinity will participat­e. Only acoustical bluegrass music will be performed. Musicians are invited to bring their own instrument­s.
