Minnesota nets first MLS win

MINNEAPOLIS — Christian Ramirez scored twice in the second half as Minnesota United came from behind to beat Real Salt Lake 4-2 on Saturday and earn the franchise its first win in MLS.

Luke Mulholland put Real Salt Lake ahead with a goal after just four minutes but Kevin Molino equalized in the 16th minute as the teams went to the break level at 1-1. Ramirez gave Minnesota United the lead in the 52nd minute then added a second 10 minutes later. Johan Venegas made it 4-1 after 68 minutes before Real Salt Lake pulled one back through Yura Movsisyan three minutes from the end.

Bastian Schweinsteiger capped his MLS debut with a brilliantly taken first-half goal to help the Chicago snatch a dramatic draw with Montreal.

Erick Torres completed a hat-trick as Houston beat the New York Red Bulls.

Jack Harrison and Thomas McNamara both scored as New York City FC overcame an early deficit to defeat a 10-man San Jose Earthquakes at Yankee Stadium.

Jose Guillermo Ortiz and Luciano Acosta scored first half goals as DC United hung on to beat Philadelphia and register its first win of the season.

The Vancouver Whitecaps scored three times in the last 24 minutes to overturn a 2-1 deficit and an own goal to beat the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Matias Laba scored the last two goals after Fredy Montero had equalized after 66 minutes.
