“It was crazy,” Phillips said. “We didn’t give up. We fought back.”

It was a stunning conclusion for Bishop Moore (17-3), which came in as the No. 1 team in the Sentinel Super Six. The Hornets rallied from a 10-6 deficit to tie the score late in the third quarter.

“We’re pretty fortunate,” Lake Highland coach said. “We thought we controlled the tempo early on. In the second half, they got away from us.”

The Bishop Moore girls got five goals from and held rival Lake Highland scoreless in the second half of a 10-4 victory that advanced the Hornets to the third round of the state lacrosse playoffs for the first time since 2010.
