Palazzo is national coach of year

For the second year in a row

the architect of Lake Highland Prep’s dynastic program has been selected as the national high school wrestling coach of the year.

Palazzo, who led LHP to its fifth state title in a span of six seasons, joined Brandon’s legendary

as the second Florida wrestling coach to be chosen by the National High School Coaches Associatio­n.

“It’s a huge honor and it’s pretty neat for us to be recognized for that,” Palazzo said. “We have guys that are working hard and it’s great to see it recognized in this fashion. When I win something, they think they have had a part in winning it too — and rightfully so. It’s good for Lake Highland and for wrestling in the state of Florida.”
