Seminole County deputies arrested a woman Monday they say used her car to bump into a school crossing guard and then drive around him, an arrest report states.

The incident happened shortly before 2 p.m. April 12 on Wekiva Springs Road near Sable Point Elementary School, according to the Sheriff ’s Office.

Lenetria Camille Dixon, 20, told investigators she was low on fuel and wanted to turn into a 7-Eleven gas station when the school crossing guard blocked the road, the arrest report states.

The guard had a stop sign out and children were walking in the crosswalk, according to the report.

Dixon said she told the guard to let her through because she needed gas, but he wouldn’t move, the report states. She told investigators she then “placed her foot lightly on the gas to go around him,” according to the report.

The Sheriff’s Office said Dixon’s car bumped the 80-year-old crossing guard, who told deputies he had to quickly get out of the way to avoid being run over. Dixon then continued to drive around him and pulled up to a gas pump, according to the report.

Witnesses wrote down her license plate and deputies used it to identify Dixon. She was arrested Monday after an interview at the Sheriff ’s Office.

The crossing guard wasn’t injured.

Dixon is facing a charge of aggravated battery on a person 65 years old or older. She was being held Tuesday at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility in Sanford without bail.
