The Orlando Science Center celebrates Women in Science Day with interactiv­e activities and guest speakers. Presentati­ons from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. will focus on STEM careers for women in a variety of scientific fields. Admission: $19.95 for adults; $17.95 for students and seniors; $13.95 for ages 3-11. ♦Spring Flower Festival:

Flower exhibits, hay rides, live music, food trucks, bonnet contest and parade, and live showing of the Kentucky Derby at the City Hall lawn. Proceeds benefit The Pink Bow Foundation, which provides essential hygiene kits to local homeless teenagers. ♦Bluegrass and Folk Music Festival:

♦Display of World War II memorabili­a:

Gainesvill­e resident Ryan Lowry will discuss and display some of the World War II memorabili­a he has collected, which includes more than 5,000 World War II artifacts covering almost every theater of the war. The presentati­on is part of the Lemonade Lectures series, which is sponsored by the Enterprise Historical Conservanc­y and Volusia County. ♦Informatio­n Session for Prospectiv­e Foster Families:

In honor of Foster Care Awareness Month in May, Community Based Care of Central Florida and Florida Hospital are holding the event to help find 100 foster homes for local children in need.
