More charges for ex-Bulls DE

-

A USF football player has been arrested for the second time in less than a month after a second woman accused him of a sexual assault.

Defensive end LaDarrius Jackson is facing charges of sexual battery and false imprisonment, according to a report in the

Those were the same charges filed against him off a May 1 arrest.

Jackson, 22, was dismissed from the team after turning himself into police, according to the report. He had previously been suspended from team activities following the first arrest.

This latest incident took place at a woman’s home in Hillsborough County on March 27.

According to the the victim told detectives that Jackson “grabbed her, forcefully removed her clothing against her will and committed sexual battery.”

Further, according to the report, “Afterward, Jackson made the woman drive to a nearby pharmacy to purchase an emergency contraceptive and ordered her to take it in his presence. He then made her drive him home to his on-campus dorm in USF's Holly Apartments.”

Jackson was released from jail Wednesday afternoon after posting a $9,500 bond.

Jackson’s case drew national attention last week after a Tampa judge presiding over his bond hearing blasted USF coach Charlie Strong and the football program in her remarks. She would later remove herself from the case.

This past week, though, relations were decidedly better between Judge Margaret Taylor and Strong when the two had a cordial meeting at the courthouse Tuesday.

“It was a very positive conversation," reported Chief Judge Ron Ficarrotta, who met Strong for coffee and asked if he would be willing to meet with the judge who gave him the dressing-down.

Strong agreed, and the two spoke for about 10 minutes in the chief judge's chambers.

“I think coach Strong was able to educate Judge Taylor on some of the issues,” Ficarrotta said. “It went very well.”

In courtroom video gone viral, Taylor had advised the new USF coach to “think long and hard” about the job “before any other members of this community have to suffer at the hands of one of your players.”
