New Justin Bieber wax figure headed to Orlando

- By Dewayne Bevil

A new breed of Justin Bieber is coming to town, and he’s made of wax. A freshly designed figure of the singer will debut in late June at Madame Tussauds Orlando.

The International Drive attraction hasn’t released a full photo of the Bieber figure, sharing only an image that stretches from his neck to his knees, complete with ripped jeans, plaid shirt and tattoos.

Bieber, who topped the Billboard singles chart with three consecutive singles in 2015 (“What Do You Mean?” “Love Yourself” and “Sorry”), has had recent success with “featuring” roles. He’s part of “Despacito” (by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee) and “I’m the One” by DJ Khaled.

“Justin Bieber has consistently been one of the most requested celebrity figures in the two years we have been open,” said James Paulding, general manager of Madame Tussauds Orlando.

Figures of Bieber, now 23, have been in other Tussauds outlets — as a floppy-haired teen and in a “wet and shirtless” look at the Las Vegas and London locations. Bieber, who has been known to show flesh in his social-media accounts and in paparazzi photos, will be wearing two shirts in the Orlando location, if the teaser photo represents the final product. The I-Drive Bieber is the first of its kind.

It took artists six months to create the new figure, including the sculpting of the figure’s clay head, the insertion of thousands of individual hairs and the reproduction of those tattoos, Tussauds says.

The wax figure of Bieber will debut June 21 at Madame Tussauds Orlando. Among the other singers already installed at the attraction are Beyonce, Rihanna, Pitbull, Madonna, Miley Cyrus, Ricky Martin, Katy Perry, Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley.
