Case and others cash in as baseball draft picks

Major League Baseball teams have signed seven of the nine Sentinel coverage area players selected near the top of last week’s amateur draft.

The First Academy’s nearly doubled his expected signing bonus when the Cincinnati Reds inked the middle infielder to a reported $997,500 after taking him with the second pick (107th overall) in the fourth round.
