Osceola deputies say man molested girlfriend’s sister, 12
Authorities have arrested a man accused of molesting his girlfriend’s 12-year-old sister and pressuring her into texting him explicit pictures, the Osceola County Sheriff ’s Office said.
Denis Enrique GarciaVasquez, 22, was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday after the victim’s parents and older sister learned about the allegations, according to a charging affidavit.
The victim told a deputy Garcia-Vasquez began asking her for nude pictures in December or January, when she was 11. She said he also touched her inappropriately twice since March. In June, she said, he walked in on her while she was in the shower.
According to the girl, he used threats to persuade her to send pictures, and she was scared to refuse his physical advances.
When confronted, GarciaVasquez said he accidentally texted the girl to “send me nudes” on Wednesday, according to the report. He claimed he instead wanted the victim’s help with a gift for his girlfriend. He also deleted messages from his phone, the victim’s sister told a deputy.
He later confessed to texting and threatening the girl for explicit pictures, according to the charging affidavit. However, he denied the other accusations.
Garcia-Vasquez has been living with the victim, his girlfriend and her mother for about two years, said Capt. Jacob Ruiz, a Sheriff ’s Office spokesman.
Authorities charged GarciaVasquez with sexual battery on a child; lewd and lascivious conduct; three counts of lewd and lascivious molestation; and seven counts of possessing or promoting a photo or movie of a sexual performance of a child.
He is being held without bail in the Osceola County Jail. He has no prior arrests in Osceola County and does not appear to have had other victims, said Ruiz.
Born in El Salvador, GarciaVasquez told authorities he is in the United States illegally.
