Dodgers: Cody Bellinger became the first rookie in franchise history to hit for the cycle, doing it in a 7-1 win over the Marlins. Bellinger singled in the first, hit a two-run homer in the third, added an RBI double in the fourth and got his second career triple in the seventh. It was also his first career four-hit game.

Yankees: Didi Gregorius lined a go-ahead single in the 16th inning of a 4-1 win over the Red Sox, the longest game between them at Fenway Park since 1966. Matt Holliday hit a tying home run off Craig Kimbrel in the ninth, and it took 5 hours, 50 minutes. Red Sox starter Chris Sale struck out 13 in 7 2⁄3 scoreless innings of three-hit ball.

Nationals: Max Scherzer struck out 10 in six innings of three-hit shutout ball in a 10-7 win over the Reds. Anthony Rendon hit a grand slam and a two-run homer . ... Joe Ross will undergo Tommy John surgery, ending his season. It also will likely cost him most, if not all, of 2018. Jacob Turner and Edwin Jackson are the likely fill-ins.

Giants: Hector Sanchez’s walk-off two-run homer lifted the Padres over the Giants 5-3, ruining Madison Bumgarner’s return. He pitched seven innings in his first start since spraining his shoulder in a dirt-bike accident in April. He left with the score tied 3-3 after allowing four hits and striking out five.

Twins: Eddie Rosario broke a tie with a two-run double in a 4-2 win over the Astros . ... RHP Bartolo Colon will start Tuesday against the Yankees. He will be the 28th pitcher the Twins have used this season, one fewer than last year’s club record. Colon, 44, was designated for assignment by the Braves after going 2-8 with an 8.14 ERA in 13 starts . ... OF Byron Buxton went on the DL (groin). 1B Joe Mauer was activated.

Royals: RHP Nate Karns will miss the rest of the season to have a rib removed in a procedure designed to take pressure off the nerve in his forearm. The Twins’ Phil Hughes and the Mets’ Matt Harvey have also been treated for thoracic outlet syndrome.
