Eat everything at Epcot food fest? Here’s what it would cost
Technically, it’s possible to eat every menu item at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. But it’s probably not a good idea for your waistline or your savings account.
The annual Walt Disney World event, which kicked off its 2017 version at the theme park on Thursday, features tasting-sized dishes, desserts and beverages at more than 30 marketplaces. Individually, they range from $3 to $32.
But what if you wanted to eat one of everything the 2017 festival has to offer? What would that run? The short answer: Not quite enough to send a person on a Disney cruise.
If you just want the solids, including the sweets, a single round through everything offered at the fest marketplaces costs $572.61.
Want to wash that down with one of each kind of beverage, alcoholic and non-alcoholic? Add $987.11. Grand total: $1,559.72. That’s higher than last year, but keep in mind there are more marketplaces and more edible options this year. In 2016, our theoretical omnivore paid $450.37 for the food and $823.96 for the beverage for a total of $1,274.33.
In 2017, the most expensive food item at the marketplaces is the teriyaki ginger pork at the Japan pavilion. It sells for $8.25.
Then there’s a clump of choices at $8, including the crispy calamari (Italy pavilion), New England lobster roll (Hops & Barley marketplace at American Adventure), the Taste of Greece combo (octopus alert) and the popular Canadian option, wild mushroom beef filet.
(The spicy hot dog, once offered at the on-hiatus South Korea marketplace, can be purchased at Epcot’s Refreshment Cool Port for $8.49.)
On the liquid side, the priciest option is a $32 serving of Dom Perignon champagne and a $16 Moet & Chandon Brut Rose Imperial champagne from the Almond Orchard kiosk. Meanwhile, over at the Earth Eats marketplace, visitors can spend $15 on Kurt Russell’s Gogi Wines Pinot Noir.
The festival, which requires a ticket to Epcot, runs daily through Nov. 13.
