recently entered eight internatio­nal wine competitio­ns across the United States and took home 53 awards.

CLERMONT — Lakeridge Winery recently entered eight internatio­nal wine competitio­ns across the United States and took home 53 awards, bringing it to a total of 858 awards to date.

The competitio­ns included the 2017 Pacific Rim, Indy Internatio­nal, Los Angeles Internatio­nal, Internatio­nal Women’s, 2017 San Francisco, Dan Berger’s Internatio­nal, 2017 Florida State Fair Internatio­nal and 2017 Florida State Fair Internatio­nal Wine Grape Juice Competitio­ns.

“I’m always extremely proud of the people that I work with that work tirelessly to produce the quality wines that have been awarded over and over again.” Charles Cox said, president of Lakeridge Winery and Seavin Inc.

Among these, Lakeridge Winery took home seven awards from the Los Angeles Internatio­nal Wine Competitio­n, including a gold for the Southern Red. Additional­ly, the Pink Crescendo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Southern White and Chablis placed silver.

Seavin Inc., owner of Lakeridge Winery and Vineyards in Clermont, San Sebastian Winery in St. Augustine and Prosperity Vineyards in Prosperity, is a pioneer in the developmen­t of premium, dessert and sparkling wines made from muscadine and vinifera grapes.

According to a press release, Lakeridge Winery and Vineyards is Florida’s largest premium winery and San Sebastian Winery is the second largest. Together, the brands have won more than 1,750 awards for excellence in winemaking.
