between a 15-year-old former student at Colonial High School and a 16-year-old boy, shots are exchanged and the younger teen is left dead.

A 15-year-old boy was killed and a 16-year-old was injured in a double shooting after a fight broke out between them Wednesday night, the Orange County Sheriff ’s Office said.

Anthony Jamie Santiago, a former student at Colonial High School, died at Florida Hospital East.

The 16-year-old is in stable condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center. Both are victims and suspects, Deputy Ingrid Tejada-Monforte said.

The Orlando Sentinel typically does not name juveniles accused of crimes.

Orange County Schools officials said Santiago previously attended Colonial High School but was not enrolled at the time of the incident. The other teen was not an Orange County Public Schools student, they said.

The teens knew each other, Tejada-Monforte said.

She said the reason behind the altercation is still unknown, but investigators are interviewing multiple witnesses in the area.

They shot at each other and were found in different locations — one in the 600 block of Hummingbird Lane and the other in the 800 block of Puffin Drive.

Both locations are near Lake Underhill Road and Chickasaw Trail in east Orange County, a few blocks away from each other.

On Thursday, deputies interviewed residents in the neighborhood where children walked from a nearby bus station past houses with Halloween decorations and signs. Most residents did not want to talk on the record with the media.

The Hummingbird Lane shooting was reported at 9:25
