Crabtree, Talib must sit 2 games

-

receiver and

Broncos cornerback

were suspended two games each without pay for fighting.

NFL Vice President Football Operations

announced the suspensions Monday, a day after the players brawled during the Raiders’ 21-14 victory. Both players can appeal the suspensions.

The fight was a continuation of a dispute that started last season when Talib ripped Crabtree’s chain off during the season finale. Crabtree missed the first game between the teams this year but went after Talib early Sunday.

On the second play of the Raiders’ second drive, Crabtree aggressively blocked Talib on a running play and drove him to the ground on the Broncos sideline. Talib ripped Crabtree’s chain off his neck while they were tangled up, and a brawl ensued. of

Siemian to start:

emerged from the revolving door of Broncos quarterbacks as the starter once again following

dismal 2017 debut Sunday that ended with him in a walking boot and crying on the sideline.

Coach said Lynch will miss two to four weeks with a high right ankle sprain suffered in the loss to the Raiders.

Ravens top Texans:

had two sacks to led an aggressive Ravens defense that kept the Texans out of the end zone for the final 51 minutes in a 23-16 victory in Baltimore.

The Ravens forced three turnovers, two in the final five minutes.

The Ravens (6-5) have won consecutive games for the first time since opening the season 2-0. The Texans (4-7) have lost four of five.

No second guessing: The Packers were in prime position to upset the Steelers in Pittsburgh, leading by seven late in the third quarter when coach

called for a field-goal try by

on fourth-and-18. Heinz Field is a notoriously difficult venue for kicking, with winds off the city’s three rivers swirling in through the open end of the stadium. But McCarthy believed the Packers needed the points more than the field position. Crosby’s low attempt looked like a knuckleball and didn’t come close. The Steelers went 53 yards the other way in six plays for the tying touchdown.

The flow of the game, the time of possession statistics and the defense were factors in McCarthy’s choice of field goal over punt.

“That’s the right he said. 57-yard decision,”
