If you don’t have a ticket in hand for tonight’s Oak Ridge at Evans boys basketball rivalry game, don’t bother knocking at the door.
No tickets will be sold on game night and Oak Ridge coach
said only 75 are still available for Pioneers fans — to be sold at school during the lunch period today.
Evans reportedly will sell tickets at its front office during school hours.
Oak Ridge is 15-3 and ranked No. 14 nationally by BallisLife.com and added another scorer to its lineup with 6-foot-4 junior playing for the first time this season in a win over Cypress Creek on Wednesday. The Kowboys (14-4) play Miami Norland tonight and national No. 3 University School (18-1) of Fort Lauderdale on Saturday night at 6:40. OCP, the reigning 3A state champ, meets Miami Christian, the defending 2A champ, at 5 on Saturday.
This Wednesday, St. Cyr did both sports in the same day. She won her weight class to help DP win the region weightlifting championship, then went to Timber Creek and won all three of her matches in a wrestling invitationjal.
The girls wrestling Metro title was the 200th conference championship for DP since it opened in 1987, second only to Winter Park.
That averages to more than six per school year.
Orlando Christian Prep is No. 1 and district rival Faith Christian No. 2 in Class 3A girls basketball state rankings compiled by the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches and SourceHoops. Winter Park’s is one of eight finalists for the National High School Athletic Coaches Association girls cross country coach of the year. She led the Wildcats to their third state championship in a span of four seasons this fall.
