An Orlando-based executive for the car technology company Voxx International has been promoted.

Ed Mas, who has worked in the automotive industry for more than 20 years, was named president of Voxx Automotive, a division that develops technologies for large auto manufacturers.

Mas was previously an executive vice president for the company.

“Ed is a seasoned veteran with a proven record of success in product development, manufacturing, financial management operations and bringing out the best in people,” Voxx International President and CEO Patrick Lavelle said in a release announcing the move.

He added that the promotion is a “clear signal to the automotive markets we serve of our heightened commitment to deliver brand-enhancing products and systems.”

Voxx Automotive employs about 250 people at a 117,000-square-foot research and manufacturing facility in southeast Orlando. The company is one of the leading manufacturers in the automotive technology space.

Mas worked 16 years at Panasonic Automotive Systems as head of manufacturing before joining Voxx four years ago.

“I look forward to drawing on my 20 years’ experience across the spectrum of automotive electronics in product, quality, financial, operational and supply chain management,” Mas said in the statement.
