UCF reveals details on teaching hospital

University of Central Florida has filed its master plan with the City of Orlando for the campus of its teaching hospital, enclosing a rendering of the threestory, 64-bed hospital that is expected to open by the end of 2020.

UCF Hospital at Lake Nona, built in partnershi­p with HCA, was approved by the state for a total of 100 beds and has space to add 16 beds in the future.

The hospital campus will be next to UCF medical school in Lake Nona and include a 60,000-square-foot medical office building, a helipad and nearly 600 parking spaces. The main entry point to the hospital will be via Lake Nona Boulevard. discussion­s with finalists, according to a news release.

Orlando Health was also chosen as one of the finalists by Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach last year. Indian River ended up choosing Cleveland Clinic in January.
