Magic Leap on Monday invited those who “code, craft, compose and create” to a technical preview of its first product, Magic Leap One, to be rolled out later this year.

The Florida-based company said it has teamed with 3-D engine providers Epic Games and Unity Technologies to open a “pathway to creating on the Magic Leap platform.” Those who want to explore the technology can download preview builds of games “Unreal Engine 4” or “Unity.”

Magic Leap said getting the creative community’s feedback is the next step before launching its first product, a headset designed to blend digital light with natural light “to produce lifelike digital objects that coexist in the real world.”

Those interested can sign up at magicleap.com/creator. But you’ll probably need some technical know-how.

“Magic Leap One is built primarily for creators, such as designers and developers who want to change how we see the world,” the company said.

Magic Leap has raised more than $2 billion in financing, including $461 million in March from investors in Saudi Arabia. Google and Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba also were major investors in previous rounds.

The company, founded in 2011 by entrepreneur Rony Abovitz, employs 1,400 people, including hundreds in South Florida.

Local and state government have pledged $9 million in incentives for Magic Leap’s $150 million capital investment in its headquarters and the creation of at least 725 jobs.

Magic Leap also has locations in: Los Angeles; Sunnyvale, Calif.; Seattle; Austin, Texas; Dallas; Zurich; New Zealand; and Israel.
