Fatone’s ex-home near Windermere on market

- By Mary Shanklin Staff Writer

Owners of Joey Fatone’s former Windermere-area house have listed it for $5.5 million.

Seven years ago, the former ’N Sync member sold his 4-acre lakefront estate for $3.3 million to executives with a Los Angelesbased educational management company.

Longtime Windermere real estate agent Suzi Karr, of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty, said the sprawling site has a resort pool, lighted tennis court and boat dock. Extras include a sixcar garage, elevator, and a master closet with more space than some downtown Orlando apartments.

“Honey, you will never have to throw away clothes again — or give them away — again,” Karr said.

Fatone and his wife, Kelly, tried to sell the estate for $5.5 million in 2010 but ultimately put it on the auction block and it sold at the bottom of the market.

Located at 9726 Kilgore Road in Orlando, the property is on Pocket Lake and west of Apopka-Vineland Road. Nearby properties have recently sold for less than $3 million, although two sales last year for about $2.5 million had about half the property as the former Fatone property.

Elsewhere in the Windermere area, at least one property sold last year above the asking price of the Fatone estate; Kara Jean and Kamran Farid purchased a home with 3.43 acres on Lake Butler for $5.6 million.

Best known as a member of the 1990s boy band ’N Sync, Fatone also appeared in the film “My Big, Fat, Greek Wedding.”

On Broadway, he appeared in “Rent” and “Little Shop of Horrors.”
