Williams breaks LeBron’s record

averaged 17 points per game for an Oak Ridge state title boys basketball team loaded with scoring options this season.

He crushed that number and erased a record set by on Sunday when he scored 44 points at the Jordan Brand Classic all-star game at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Williams, a 6-foot-7 power forward who is expected to sign with LSU on Wednesday, made 22 of his 23 shot attempts, scoring almost all of his points on slam dunks. He added seven rebounds, three steals and two assists in 23 minutes to lead the Home team to a 146-136 victory at the NBA home of the Brooklyn Nets.

Williams aid he had plenty of motivation after not being invited to a previous major all-star event, the McDonald’s AllAmerica­n Game. He said this to USA Today after the game:

“The biggest thing I bring to the table is my motor and guys love that. I wasn’t a McDonald’s AllAmerica­n, and I know I should have been one and I made a statement why I should have been one.”

Orlando Christian Prep senior and North Carolina recruit who was MVP of the McDonald’s game last month, scored 24 points on Sunday and was picked as MVP for the Away team. He made 9-of-14 field goal attempts and was 6-for-6 from the foul line.

who was in California for last week’s USA Water Polo national-team selection camp. The Titans still managed a 3-1 weekend, including an 11-8 win over Lake Nona and a 10-8 loss to Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas.

The Nona boys went 2-2 and are 17-4 for the year.
