Kowboys climb with win vs. rival

Osceola moves into the Sentinel Super Six baseball rankings this week while Hagerty maintains the top spot despite losing Friday at Lake Howell.

The Huskies won the opening game of the district series 9-5 on Tuesday, but the Silver Hawks responded with a 7-6 walkoff win in the seventh inning three days later.

Lake Howell, slotted No. 10 among programs in Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Lake, Sumter and Volusia counties, hosts No. 11 Tavares on Wednesday and No. 2 Lake Mary on Thursday.

Osceola moved up two spots to crack the Super Six rankings after winning 2-1 over Gateway, which evened the series between the Kissimmee rivals. The Kowboys supplant The First Academy, which dropped one spot after losing 4-3 to Windermere Prep.

New Smyrna Beach replaces Clermont East Ridge in the Second Six entering its series this week against Daytona Beach Father Lopez.
