Stand-up comedian

- Staff Reports

Kathy Griffin will bring her “Laugh Your Head Off ” World Tour in September to Orladndo. Meanwhile, Bonnie Raitt is canceling her May appearance.

Comics have Orlando on their radar, but one singersongwriter has had to cancel.

Stand-up comedian Kathy Griffin will bring her “Laugh Your Head Off” World Tour to Orlando.

She will play the Bob Carr Theater at 8 p.m. Sept. 13. Tickets start at $45 and go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. today .

“Laugh Your Head Off” refers to that photo of Griffin holding up a fake head of President Donald Trump in May 2017.

Controversy followed, and Griffin apologized and begged for forgiveness. She rescinded the apology in August.

“I’m no longer sorry,” Griffin told “Sunrise,” a morning show in Australia. “The whole outrage was BS. The whole thing got so blown out of proportion and I lost everybody.”

Her U.S. tour was halted, and she was fired from her gig hosting New Year’s Eve on CNN with Anderson Cooper.

In her show, she tells the story of the Trump photo and the furor that followed. Her subjects range from the president to the Kardashians.

Raitt will miss Taylor concert

When James Taylor & His All-Star Band perform May 9 at Orlando’s Amway Center, Bonnie Raitt won’t be on the bill, it was announced Monday.

Raitt requires surgery for an undisclosed medical condition. A full recovery is expected. However, she will miss the first half of their summer tour.

The first leg kicks off May 8 in Jacksonville and will now be an “Evening with James Taylor & His All-Star Band,” featuring two sets with a brief intermission.

Raitt is scheduled to rejoin the tour starting June 22 in St. Paul, Minn.

Comic Gulman at Dr. Phillips

One of the best underthe-radar comics is coming back to Orlando.

Gary Gulman — who for many might be the best stand-up you’ve never heard of — is bringing his one-of-a-kind comedy 8 p.m. Oct. 8 to the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets start at $35 and go on sale to the general public 10 a.m. Friday.

Part of his “Must be Nice!” tour, Gulman is the mastermind of one of my all-time favorite comedy bits. The topic is — wait for it — postal abbreviations for states and it showcases his master-level talent as a storyteller. I don’t send much snail mail these days, but when I do I can’t not think about Gulman.

His television credits include HBO’s “Crashing” and “Inside Amy Schumer.” He also has stand-up specials streaming on Netflix and Amazon. Todd Stewart
