Just try to get your hands around these oversized meals

Can you really picture a 24-inch pizza? Most large pizzas are between 14-16 inches in diameter, making the large at King’s Pizza almost twice that average.

Cibele Palacio of King’s Pizza said most people are surprised when they see the box, which requires two hands.

Their 24-inch pie is normal in New York, where Cibele, and her husband Cleber, get their pizza inspiration. Simply fold one of those hefty slices, and you have a to-go meal.

“It’s something different from the big brands,” Cibele said.

It takes between 10-15 minutes for the 24-inch pies to cook. Prices start at $22.95 for a cheese pizza.

Cibele, a former architect, and Cleber, a former IT associate, always wanted to open their own business. The couple, who hail from Brazil, decided to open the International Drive pizzeria two years ago.

“We’ve always loved pizza,” Cibele said.

King’s Pizza has a new location at Curry Ford Road. The latter doesn’t serve the 24-inch pies — the oven is too small.

Grab a King’s Pizza pie or a slice at 6550 International Drive in Orlando or 2840 Curry Ford Road in Orlando.

Seeing the Palacio’s giant pizza sparked an interest in me to find some other oversized food in Orlando. Here are a few:

Nearly all the dishes are worth a to-go box at this San Diego-based chain. Chicken and waffles ($18) form a somewhat teetering tower, while the the bun on the 18-ounce hand hammered crispy pork ($16.99) is just comically small. Full disclosure, I have not attempted this restaurant’s Kitchen Sink Challenge and I’m not sure that I ever will. The lineup: 1 pound of French fries, a fried pickle, the Kitchen Burger (topped with bacon, cheddar, onion rings, lettuce, tomato and a chipotle horseradish aioli) and the 7-layer Kitchen Sink Cake (brownies, peanut butter crunch, chocolate chunk cookies, cheesecake, pecan pie, devil’s food cake, vanilla chiffon cake). Polish off this meal, and you won’t get stuck with the $50 price tag. (Hard Rock Hotel Orlando, The Kitchen, 5800 Universal Blvd, Orlando; 407-503-2430; UniversalOrlando.com)

I can’t mention giant pizza without mentioning Lazy Moon’s lunar-sized (maybe I’m exaggerating) pies. This local pizzeria’s largest size measures up to 30 inches. Good luck fitting it through your front door. Their slices are roughly the size of your forearm, if you want to be a bit more conservative. Prices range from $4.20 for a slice to $$26 for a 30-inch pie. (11551 University Blvd. in Orlando, 407-658-2396, or 1011 E. Colonial Drive in Orlando, 407-412-6222; lazymoonpizza.com)
