Marlins: Madison Bumgarner blew a sixth-inning lead and was ejected on the way out of his second start this season as the Marlins rallied past the Giants 7-5 in Miami. Bumgarner allowed back-to-back hits to begin the sixth with a 4-2 lead. Cameron Maybin hit a sacrifice fly and then Justin Bour walked on four pitches, prompting Bumgarner to voice his displeasur­e to umpire Jeremie Rehak. Bumgarner allowed a game-tying hit by Lewis Brinson to end his outing. On his way to the dugout, he again had words for Rehak and was ejected.

Cubs, Brewers: The Cubs took over first place from the Brewers in the NL Central when Anthony Rizzo homered to lead off the 11th inning and the Cubs scored four more runs in a 7-2 victory in Milwaukee . ... Before the game, Brewers 1B Eric Thames was reinstated from the 10-day DL and RHP Brandon Woodruff was optioned to Triple A.

Cardinals: Marcell Ozuna and Jose Martinez hit two-run HRs, rookie Jack Flaherty pitched into the seventh inning, and the Cardinals beat the Padres 5-2 in St. Louis. Jedd Gyorko added a one-out HR in the eighth . ... More than a year after a life-threatenin­g brain injury, Daniel Poncedeleo­n is ready to make his major-league debut. The Cardinals bought the 26-year-old RHP’s contract from Triple-A Memphis before a three-game series against the Padres. The promotion comes 13 months since a line drive hit him in the right temple, fracturing his skull during a game against the Iowa Cubs on May 9, 2017.

Red Sox: The only runs of the game came on two sacrifice flies in the 12th inning in a 2-0 victory over the Orioles in Baltimore. Mookie Betts returned from 14 days on the DL and went 1-for-5. Before the game, Orioles closer Zach Britton was activated after six months on the DL.

Indians: Manager Terry Francona said reliever Andrew Miller had his best bullpen session since he was placed on the 10-day DL in late May because of inflammati­on in his right knee.
