Fishing

-

FRESHWATER:

Many retention ponds throughout the area are loaded with minnows and bass are gorging on them. Use small swimbaits like a Storm WildEyed Shad or Creme lures and you should catch good numbers. Walk along the shoreline and make casts parallel to it. Bass Assassin jerkbaits and Chug Bug surface plugs should also work well.

SALTWATER:

Use live pogies off the jetties at Port Canaveral for snook, redfish, Spanish mackerel and jacks, along with a a few bluefish and possibly a tarpon. The best action will be during tide changes, but with plenty of bait in the area you should be able to catch fish throughout the day.
