Hagerty softball honors

Hagerty softball pitcher Ashley Worrell, the Sentinel’s area player of the year, joins her coach, David Stone, as finalists for Florida Dairy Farmers major state awards.

Worrell, a Rollins recruit, is in the running for the Miss Softball honor after being voted Class 8A MVP. She was 22-2 with a 1.11 ERA and also hit well for the state champion Huskies.

Stone, who has compiled a record of 165-39 at Hagerty, is one of the nine coach of the year finalists.
