Oviedo’s Ethan Fields and Winter Park seniors Erin Wright and Matthew

Kuczajda were recognized as part of the Florida Dairy Farmers academic all-state team during a Florida High School Athletic Associatio­n banquet Monday in Gainesvill­e.

Fields lettered in both cross country and track and field at Oviedo while ranking second academical­ly in his graduating class.

A team captain on the 2017 Class 4A cross country state championsh­ip team, Fields will attend Harvard University to study government, politics and contempora­ry music while taking part in the dual degree program at Berklee College of Music.

Wright was a team captain on Winter Park’s water polo, weightlift­ing and swim teams while also performing over 500 hours of community service. She represente­d her school at the state leadership conference as part of the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Program and has plans to study neuroscien­ce and behavioral psychology at the University of Florida.

Kuczajda ran for Winter Park’s boys cross country team and on a fifth-place 4x800-meter relay at the track and field state meet.

He was also a member of the marching and concert bands throughout high school and recognized as an all-county trumpet player and most outstandin­g veteran marcher. Kuczajda will study aerospace engineerin­g at the Air Force Academy.
