Surgery slows Simmons

will face the Brooklyn Nets on July 6 at UNLV’s Cox Pavilion, play the Memphis Grizzlies on July 8 at UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center and tip-off against the Phoenix Suns on July 9 at the Thomas & Mack Center.

All 30 teams will participate in the NBA Summer League for the first time in NBA history.

The Magic hosted their own league in Orlando in recent years and last competed in Las Vegas in 2005. But Magic decision-makers scrapped their league last November and decided to play in Las Vegas because it would give their young players more exposure and because the setting more closely approximates a regular-season environment. In addition, league officials prefer all 30 teams in Las Vegas.

After each team plays three games apiece, the league will seed the teams and begin tournament play on July 11.

Each team will play a minimum of five games and a maximum of eight games.

The championship game will be played on July 17.

All summer league games will be televised on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU or NBA TV.

Tickets can be purchased at NBATickets.com.
